We are so sorry to hear of your loss Vivian – but so very happy for Gary who is with his Lord and Savior whom he served with his whole heart. I was born in 1960 to Richard and Katherine Wintz.
On August 5, 2020, we welcomed our first child, Wells. After graduating from Cedar Catholic High School, I went off to the University of Nebraska in Lincoln for three years. I attended Mortuary School at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis graduating with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Mortuary Science in the spring of 2001. I then served my apprenticeship at Heafey, Heafey, Hoffmann, Dworak, Cutler Funeral Home in Omaha.
Welcome to Wintz Funeral Homes
Grace and peace to you Vivian, Christin, Josh, and family. Our time together at LCOOR was so meaningful with Gary and Vivian. God so blessed our family with Gary’s messages and friendship. Vivian and family, we are so sorry to hear of Gary’s passing. The years we were members of Trinity in Vermillion were made so meaningful by the kind of pastor Gary was. The world is a little less fun with Gary not in it.

Prior to raising our family, Kristi worked for Hair by Stewarts in Yankton. Our greatest joy and blessing in life is our family. We are members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Catholic United Financial. As a family we enjoy volunteering at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and at the Sacred Heart Bazaar.

She continued working part time for several years and then began doing consultant work at various nursing homes. Contact us for pre-planning, funeral services, and aftercare support. I have great memories of your time in Laurel. Gary was a loving and faithful man who had a wonderful sense of humor and strong faith in the Lord. He loved reading, rooting for the Twins and the Vikings and watching John Wayne movies, especially ones by his favorite director, John Ford. He loved his family most of all and will be greatly missed.
My heart breaks with you right now as I know how hard it is to lose too soon someone you love so much. I’m glad you’re together and there for each other, and wish very much that I could join you. I will be with you in spirit until I can make the trip out there for a visit, hopefully very soon. We are members of the Hartington Golf Course. I am a member of and active in numerous church, school and civic organizations. We are members of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington.
