She did receive her GED in the 1970’s. Loretta taught a cake decorating class to about 50 people for adult education in Hartington. She stayed busy making and decorating cakes for all occasions. Loretta loved to make quilts, crocheting, sewing and baking.
I was one of the ladies Loretta taught in her cake decorating class I only went to learn how to decorate cakes for my kids birthdays. Loretta did such a good job teaching that almost 50 years later, I’m still decorating cakes but I have expanded to more than just my family. People always ask me who taught me how to decorate and I proudly tell them Loretta Hahn from Hartington did. If I have a legacy to leave behind that would be it. Thank You Loretta for giving me the opportunity to fulfill my talent.
